Watch functions and analysis(1)
Dear friends, today I will share some functional knowledge of the watch with you, let's take a look together.
1. Calendar
The calendar is to open a small window on the dial to display the 31st day of the month in numbers. The calendar table with this function is called date. The date display is mostly digital, but there are also pointer-type displays. The pointer-type is used to display the date by indicating the numbers distributed on the surface by the date pointer. Moreover, there are watches that display the week, called day. In addition to the date and week, there are also indications of month names, commonly referred to as "full calendars".Due to different days in different months, it is necessary to add a more complicated monthly calendar adjustment device to the general calendar table.
Calendar types can be divided into common single calendar (date), double calendar (week + date), full calendar (month + week + date) and complex calendar (month + week + date + star-moon movement).
2. Power reserve display
Power reserve display, also called energy display. There is usually a display window on the dial that indicates the power reserve, also called the energy display window.
This function can indicate the remaining power of the mechanical clock (the degree of winding up of the mainspring), which is called the kinetic energy storage indicator or the power indicator. Usually a fan-shaped window is opened on the dial, with a pointer indicating the remaining battery level. A mechanical watch will show how long it can run before it needs to be wound, while a quartz watch shows the battery level.
3. Timing
Flyback timing: In a normal chronograph, in order to measure the length of multiple time periods in a row, the wearer must press the button three times in succession: once to stop the chronograph, once to reset it to zero, and once to reset it again start the timer. For watches equipped with the flyback chronograph function, pressing the flyback button once will stop the recording of the first period and return the hands to the zero position. Immediately after releasing the button, the chronograph hands start running again.
Split-seconds chronograph: It is characterized by two second hands that overlap and operate together. This chronograph is characterized by an extra chronograph button. In chrono mode, pressing the split chronograph button stops one of the hands while the other continues, so that two times that start at the same time but not end at the same time can be counted. If the split chronograph button is pressed again, the stopped second hand will catch up with the previously continuously running second hand (flyback property).
I want to say Goodbye to you again. This concludes today's sharing.Thank you for your support to Window's Clock & Watch CO.,LTD .!
